Sloppy loss for Bombers

Tonight all eyes were on Phil Hughes after another disappointing start last week in Texas. Tonight, Hughes took a small step forward by going 5.2 innings and allowing four runs on two home runs. It was his best start of the season but after Boone Logan came in to finish the inning, he allowed Hughes' last runner to score and things got out of hand when Nunez botched a ball in left field after going toward the ball like it would have been an easy play. I can't knock Nunez for his performance. Overall, he has been decent in the outfield over the last two games but something like this had to be expected at some point.

The Yankees bats were quiet once again tonight after a long Granderson home run in the first inning. They got men on but failed to score any of them. Cano's struggles at the plate continue as he went 0-4 and popped out with the bases loaded. He has not looked like himself this entire season but I know that he will explode, and soon. In tomorrow's rubber game, it will be Jake Arrieta starting against the undefeated Ivan Nova, who will be going for his 16th straight winning decision in the regular season.
