Yankees lose Again

Freddy Garcia once again gave the Yankees a performance that they should have been able to win with. Instead, Boone Logan comes into the eighth inning with a one run deficit and gives up two more runs to give the Orioles a comfy three run lead. The Yankees came back in the bottom of the seventh inning with two solo shots. One by Eric Chavez and the next one by Ichiro, his one-hundredth career long ball in the major leagues. The Yankees have not been firing on all cylinders ever since Alex Rodriguez's injury and have struggled to score enough runs to support their starting pitcher. They have lost eight of their last eleven games and allow the Orioles to gain a game on them in the standings. The Yankees lead in the AL East is down to 6.5 games. Times like these are a good reason to have a hot streak early and gain ground on the teams below you in the standings. Mark Teixeira exited the game in the seventh after diving for a ground ball and landing strangely on his left arm. If Teixeira is out for any extended period of time, the Yankees go into panic mode because both of their corner infielders are injured.

Tomorrow night, the Yankees try to avoid a four game skid when Ivan Nova takes the mound against Chris Tillman. I will be at the game and will post lineups and a post game analysis after the game. Hopefully, Teixeira's wrist is alright and the Yankees can get back on track again.
