CC Sabathia is headed to the 15 day disabled list for the second time this season. This time, it is because of stiffness in his left elbow. The decision was made minutes ago whether to just skip his next start or to DL the Yankee ace. He first felt stiffness in his first start coming back from the DL. It came back after his last start against Seattle. Girardi said it's a low level of concern. Sabathia will have a cortisone shot in his elbow.
David Phelps will make Sabathia's next scheduled start on Monday against the Rangers. No pitch count has been determined for the young right-hander.
