Kuroda Tosses Gem vs. Toronto

Hiroki Kuroda was the story of the night for the Yankees. Coming off a bad loss last night, Kuroda was able to turn the Yankees' fortunes around with a stellar eight inning shutout. Kuroda was masterful, allowing only two hits and one walk through eight brilliant innings. Kuroda allowed a double to lead off the game and surrendered only one more hit through the remaining portion of the game. He walked no batters in eight innings and was able to shut down a lineup that has been crushing pitchers over the last week. Kuroda taming a potent offense shows just how brilliant his performance tonight was.
The Yankee offense was able to get to Buehrle yet again. However, the young players were the keys to the game offensively tonight. Austin Romine and David Adams both collected two hits and each of the farm players had a dinner, with Romine also getting one of the Yankees five RBI tonight. Gardner is beginning to get hot, as he led tonight's game off with a triple on which he would score and drove in a run in the Yankees three run outburst in the seventh inning versus Mark Buehrle. With all of the Yankee injuries, it is crucial for the young players to contribute. Adams has already shown that he can hit, along with making some sparkling plays at third base. After a slow start offensively, Romine's bat is getting hot.

The Yankees will try to keep their dominance against the Blue Jays going tomorrow when David Phelps takes the mound against hard-throwing Brandon Morrow.
