Yankee Bats Silent

CC Sabathia kept his offense in the game for the majority of his start. However, when your offense scores you only one run (by the way, I was at the Stadium tonight and called the Soriano homer), there is little margin for error. CC Sabathia kept his offense in the game much of the time but unfortunately, Jon Lester pitched that much better against a  Yankees offense that did not include Brian McCann and Brett Gardner. I pin this loss on Girardi because he neglected to include two of his main hitters in the lineup against a tough lefty versus a division rival. It was pretty pathetic that it took Girardi until the eighth and ninth inning to put his two main offensive guys in the game. Solarte looks like he has cooled off, and Beltran still has not hit his stride. When everything comes together with this team they will be tough to beat. In order for that to happen, their bullpen and CC Sabathia need to figure things out.

Tomorrow afternoon, Hiroki Kuroda will take the mound for the Yankees against John Lackey. The Yankees have historically done well against Lackey and will look to continue that trend tomorrow afternoon as they once again fall to under .500.
